Rocksmith 2014 is an amazing tool. I've been messing around with guitars for 30 years, but never had the patience to methodically learn to play. I don't really have time for lessons from a teacher or the patience to teach myself tab. So I diddled around with an acoustic for literally decades. When I heard about Rocksmith I though it was a neat idea, but the original version had pretty mediocre review so I never tried it. When 2014 came out and I started to hear good things about it, I bought it as soon as it went on sale.

Anyone who's used MS software for the last twenty five or so years like I have know that they have a way of making some things more complicated than necessary. It's been about about fifteen years since I was last a "power" database user/creator (thank goodness!) but I was tracking some pricing for my business and decided that Excel just wasn't going to do the trick as far as reporting and query so I decided to build a very simple database and purchased Access 2010 for the job. I think I was using Access 2.0 along and Paradox 1.0 when I was last doing such stuff and being underpaid for it.

Having issues with the program slowing Mozilla Thunderbird (my mail client) to a crawl on opening. Thunderbird works fine as long as I disable McAfee completely or start it in Thunderbird's "safe mode," which also blocks all McAfee items from running with Thunderbird, but as soon as I try to open normally, it takes 45-60 seconds for the program to open. Spent about an hour on the phone today with their tech support with no success. Their second tier support is suppose to call tomorrow and perhaps they can resolve the issue, but I will have to see.
