  • Edward R. Battig II - Right tool for the job!

The Dewalt 4 1/2 inch Small angle grinder had the appropriate amount of power needed to do the job I needed it to do. I have used other angle grinders and the Dewalt had a sturdy hold and did not lose power.

  • charles g. - Don't buy into the bad review hype

I have a 7500 series 55 inch Samsung Smart TV. This Evolution kit is for 7500 series and later Smart TV models. Give yourself around 30-45 minutes to install. You have to upgrade tv software prior to installing the kit. The reason why people have issues with the kit is that you do have to apply a decent amount of pressure when trying to install the kit. It does not "snap" into place, it almost has to be "pressed" in so that the kit's connection attaches to the tv properly. I came across many reviews and was on the fence before taking the leap and buying. Had a knowledgable rep at a major electronics store that had recently installed one and explained how if you follow the instructions, you're good to go. He didn't press the kit into the tv hard enough so it was only partially connected and at first there were black lines on his TV. when he unplugged the tv and detached and then reattached the evolution kit by pressing the kit so the connections could firmly engage, the lines went away. Watch for the price to drop and jump all over this! I grabbed mine for around $186 bucks. The new remote can now control your cable box, the apps are more responsive with less delay. Voice and hand gestures are more intuitive. My 3 year old loves coming in the room and yelling "Hi TV, power on!" I rated it 4 bc it would be nice to see Samsung pick up additional provider apps beyond HBOGO such as SHO, StarzPlay, etc and maybe even pick up additional provider content besides Verizon. The Smarthub is intuitive with hand gestures with being able to spin the cube to access content. You need to make sure you have your TV professionally calibrated after the kit is installed as all your settings are reset (due to replacement of 2012 menu's with 2013 content). I receive a free calibration each year as part of a reward program, had it calibrated 3 months after purchase and again once evolution kit was installed. The picture is much crisper after installation of the evolution kit, technician said it was because of more setting options on updated menu.

  • HomerWright - Kindle needs to improve its format for medical textbooks

The high-yield content is excellent, and this is a staple for any medical student in the first two years of school. The Kindle format, however, is clunky, slow, and outdated compared to Inkling. Why is this title not available via the Inkling platform? I almost exclusively buy textbooks which are packaged with Student- or ExpertConsult, which enables me digital access via Inkling. I say 'almost', because I made an exception for this valuable title. If the publishers are reading this, I strongly urge them to consider broadening platforms and license with Inkling, or if Amazon Kindle folks are reading this, then I ask you to improve the Kindle format for medical text books; an investment in this area will yield a better customer experience and lead to higher sales in the future. Thanks.

  • LC in Michigan - Motion Blur Issues Cost This Model 3 Stars!!!

I replaced my TV having a CRT with this one, and this is my first LCD TV. I have to say that I'm not favorably impressed. My biggest complaint is on this model's "Motion Blur". This very annoying characteristic is apparently common to LCD TV screens. Motion Blur is especially annoying when the camera pans the scenery which makes everything look like it goes out of focus. From what I have read, High-refresh-rate LCD TVs (120Hz and 240Hz) were developed to combat this problem and make it less annoying, but this TV with it's 60Hz Refresh Rate is not one of them. I've read that many of the better TVs have circuitry added to combat Motion Blur. It is sometimes called "motion smoothing," "motion interpolation," or "ME/MC" for motion estimation/motion compensation. Another annoying attribute is that it takes this TV much too long to turn on. It takes 4 to 5 seconds for the power indicator LED to respond to pushing the "Power" button on the remote, so you never know right away if the TV recognized the signal from the remote control. The sound quality and volume is decent for a slim flat screen model. I have to say that the Digital Tuner in the TV is excellent and outperforms all the Tuners in the Digital-to-Analog Converter boxes that I use with my other TVs. Video quality on Live TV broadcasts is good, but video quality varies greatly with Video Input from the "Component Input Port". My experience here with my first LCD TV certainly does not give me any desire to rush out and replace my other CRT based TVs with LCD models.
