  • Ben Roberts - Unsatisfactory results - frequent audio drop-outs. But cost refunded

On the "plus" side, it's very easy to use. (Granted, you really have to look closely at the control buttons, as the symbols for play, rewind, etc., are black on black and very tiny.) But the "minus" makes the ease of use a moot point as the end result is unsatisfactory. I have a number of audio cassettes that are voice only (no music). I am breaking up the digital transfers into segments that run anywhere from 20 seconds to two minutes. The cassettes play fine (I've played them on a few different players to make sure), and they sound fine when monitoring the digital transfer through the ear pods. However, when playing the digital files back, there are always audio drop-outs in each segment, where a syllable or an entire word goes missing. It would be one thing if it happened every minute or so, but it's anywhere from every five to ten seconds. For my needs, this renders the digital files useless. I emailed FORE through the Amazon site, telling them about the problem. To their credit, they refunded the cost of purchase. I have no way of knowing whether my experience reflected a problem with my particular machine, or if it's a default with this model in general. Others commenting here seem to have no problem. But at least the manufacturers did the right thing by issuing the refund. I'll still have to find a cassette converter that makes digital recordings without the drop-outs.

  • ProVega - Same repaint / flicker bug as Quicken 2013

I cannot provide a real review at this time, because Quicken 2014 has the same "flickering mouse" and screen re-paint issues as Quicken 2013 had. Every time I enter a transaction, the mouse cursor flickers several hundred times and app freezes. Then about 15 seconds later I can use the program again. This happens regardless of the number of transactions in the register. This also happens under the Account List if you check/un-check "Show hidden accounts" - so it feels like the bug has to do with the Account list repainting or completely recalculating. I have contacted support, done the repair non-sense, etc.

  • K Meeder - Comprehensive Revit Resource

I have found that this series is a tremendous resource beyond what is available on blogs or from other book authors. The book is incredibly comprehensive, making it an excellent tool within in the office. The chapter on concept design and sustainability has many tools and tips for optimizing your model for quantities needed for LEED. As with its previous versions, there are tips for every skill level.

  • Susie Darling - Disappointing to say the least...

I had an old version of a Hallmark Card Studio that worked on my windows XP OS and I loved it. I was able to create ANYTHING with it. This HCS is worthless in comparison. Yes, there are many extra graphics and fonts at my fingertips, but it doesn't offer as many projects as it claims and adding text and setting dimensions is a real pain. I'm glad I didn't spend more than $13.00 on it, because it's worth far less and at least I didn't break my wallet as much as Hallmark has broken my confidence in their product.
